Sports

Sports has always been a big part of my life.

Since my dad took me to Yankee Stadium in the early ‘60’s to see Mickey Mantle play, to the first time he showed me how to shoot a bank shot on our basketball court, I have had a passion for sports.

I was the scorekeeper for my little league baseball and high school basketball teams…I wrote stories of the games for the school and local newspapers.

I was the captain of the wheelchair basketball team at Hofstra University…some of my fondest memories are of making the playoffs the final two years of my Rolling Dutchman career.

I play tennis and do some trap shooting and have even dabbled a bit on the ski slopes.

I have been a sports reporter/photographer at events like the US Open in both tennis and golf…My friend Andy and I were here for some of Jimmy Connors, Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe’s greatest moments.

I was at Yankee Stadium the historic night Reggie Jackson hit three home runs in the World Series Game against the Dodgers.

I covered the New York Jets and the New Jersey Nets for the Poughkeepsie Journal back in the late '70's. I have been writing about local sports here on the East End of Long Island for over thirty years.

Ed and I have done the cable ‘Hot Stove League’ television show for almost 19 years now…for both of us, it is a labor of love.

I am an avid boater…there is a tranquility about being on the water that resonates in my soul.

I have discovered IF THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS USUALLY A WAY!!
